Army space badge. In 2011 the army and air force agreed to make the space badge a joint service insignia removing air force from the badge title. In 2014 the title was changed gto space operations badge. The space badge can be awarded to active army army reserve and national guard soldiers who successfully complete appropriate space related training and attain the required army space cadre experience.
Today the army space personnel development office is organization that processes and awards the space badge to qualified members of the space cadre. There are three levels of the space badge. The space operations badge is an occupational badge for space professionals of the united states air force usaf and the united states space force ussf while the united states army usa version of the badge known as the space badge is a special skills badge for soldiers who also qualify as space professionals.
Basic space badge requests. Station trainer and can earn the space badge based on their training education and experience in a cadre billet while serving in their primary military occupational specialty. Wear the next higher level badge after 12 months.

Wear the basic badge representative of the organization s mission upon entering a headquarters staff or command position unless previously qualified for a higher level badge. The space badge is awarded to active army army reserve and national guard soldiers who successfully complete appropriate space related training and attain the required army space cadre experience.
