It is adjacent to the rio grande bosque and rio grande valley state park. Bachechi is a 27 acre open space wildlife management area in the north valley with wildlife viewing hiking multi use.

Alameda and bachechi open space walk is a 1 3 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near albuquerque new mexico that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. This north valley historical setting now serves as an open space area in a natural environment.
