Can There Be Fire In Space
Recent tests aboard the international space station have shown that fire in space can be less predictable and potentially more lethal than it is on earth.
Can there be fire in space. Therefore the belief is that fuel and heat may exist in space but without the requisite oxygen fire wouldn t form. When flames burn on earth heated gases rise from the fire drawing oxygen in and pushing combustion products out. This replaces natural convection so fires do indeed spread in space but because the ventilation system can supply the air the fire needs to burn it can spread in any direction rather than just up it s not just the direction of flame spread that can be different in space though.
Fires can t burn in the oxygen free vacuum of space but guns can shoot. Many people would argue that explosions and fireballs can therefore not exist in space because it is a vacuum without oxygen. There have been experiments says nasa.
