Space Bar Sticking

A typical press won t always register.

Space bar sticking. Use this video for a demonstration of how to remove and then replace repair larger keys on a lenovo laptop such as the enter and space. My space bar was getting a bit sticky and making things slowwwww. I wouldn t call it sticking.

Position the can of compressed air s nozzle at the base of the space bar. Please keep in mind. Depress the button on the can to blow the air around the key.

On my almost 10 year old early 2008 macbook pro penryn i couldn t figure out anything to do after replacing the spacebar with newer used version. Spacebar sticking and being generally obnoxious. If i am firm when pressing the space anywhere it always works.

The right side of my spacebar sticks a bit when pressed 3 4 times and when i then proceed to hit the left side of it it makes a clicking sound and unsticks for 3 4 more presses when the cycle then repeats itself. My be keyone has a similar space bar issue. A little bit of goof off or goo gone on a cotton swab may help get rid of sticky residue that s causing your keys to stick.

Do this on all sides of the key to ensure it is clean. Most space bars have a piece of wire in them to push down the bar evenly however on older cheaper keyboards this bar will tend to come off. You may have a chance to fix the sticky keys but the backlight is not so promising.

After thoroughly spraying the space bar with air i placed my macbook pro back on my kitchen table and happily discovered that its space bar was again fully operational. Press the space bar to see if it still sticks.
