Space engineers hydrogen tank. Last edited by legas. I have a large ship docked via connector and its tanks refil from the base fine. It can also be used to refill hydrogen bottles by placing it into the tank s inventory and clicking on refill bottles assuming that auto refill isn t checked.
Currently using a hydrogen fueled miningship to go collect ice and it would be great to know if it s actually worth it or if i should try setting up some type of icemining station and use an atmospheric collector. The hydrogen tank is a block used to store and distribute hydrogen. Once they re connected hydrogen will flow automatically from the generator to the tank.
Both oxygen generator and hydrogen tanks have ports for conveyors. Each trip with the current ice miner can collects about 1 2million ice and it uses up 1 full large hydrogen tank because the closest icefield is 10km away. They are available to both large and small ships.
The hydrogen tank was added into space engineers in update 01 105 as part of their hydrogen update. Although this could very very easily be fixed with an afternoon of coding by the devs and is clearly a side effect of them feeling the pressure of people clammoring for muh engineering content. Its main use however is in conjunction with the large and small hydrogen thrusters where it is used as fuel.
Ive got weird thing yesterday ive tried my mining hydrogen ship to connector when connector strenght pulled me hydrogen tank exploded together with some of thrusters and ship was pushed into spacewith 20 m s speed im sure there was. Once hydrogen is put into a tank it s stuck there untill it s used. Is it turned on is ownership set to you main ship tank shouldnt matter as long as small ship one is set to stockpile maybe run out of ice thats about alls i can think of atm.
Nov 13 2015 5 30pm. Just connect them using conveyor tubes.
