What Is Confined Space
A confined space is an enclosed or partially enclosed area that is big enough for a worker to enter.
What is confined space. Contains or has a potential to contain a hazardous atmosphere the aforementioned bad air contains a material that has the potential for engulfing an entrant. Confined spaces are not designed for someone to work in regularly. A confined space is a space with limited entry and egress and not suitable for human inhabitants.
Osha defines a prcs as any confined space that meets one or more of the following. Has limited or restricted means for entry or exit 3. A confined space also has limited or restricted means for entry or exit and is not designed for continuous occupancy.

In order for a work area to be defined as a confined space it must meet all three of the following criteria. If something goes wrong while you are inside a confined space escape rescue may be difficult. Is not designed for continuous occupancy.
An example is the interior of a storage tank occasionally entered by maintenance workers but not intended for human occupancy.
