There Is No Gravity In Space

Space contains massive objects that exert a gravitational force on everything around them.

There is no gravity in space. The astronaut is merely. Gravity is everywhere even in space. As a result while in orbit astronauts experience weightlessness not because there is no gravity in space but because an orbiting body is in a constant state of free fall.

It certainly appears that there s no gravity in space but appearances are deceiving. Astronauts in orbit are more accurately in free fall. For example the gravitational pull exerted by the sun on the entire solar system is what keeps them in orbit just as earth s gravity keeps the moon in orbit.

Anything that has mass generates gravity but the effect becomes less with distance. Therefore if there is no air there is no gravity. As they orbit and fall toward earth at the same rate as their spaceship astronauts feel weightless as if there were no gravity.

Any object that has mass generates gravity and gravity causes every object to pull every other object towards it. It may be so small at great distances that it s almost undetectable. This no air no gravity idea pops up all the time in movies incorrectly so.

There is no force that pulls astronauts feet against the floor of their spacecraft while it is in space and if that is what you mean by zero gravity then yes there is really zero gravity in space. To know the exact reason for the presence of gravity in space first know how gravity works. Gravity exists everywhere even in outer space.

Gravity is not a force that keeps things on the ground. And in that case the universe would be a supremely boring place. In outer space however there is no ground to push against astronauts.
